How we collect, use, and protect your information
SaturdayOff (saturdayoff.co.uk) is an independent community project that provides cancellation alerts for free Saturday 5k running events across the UK. We are not affiliated with parkrun Ltd in any way.
For any privacy-related questions, you can contact us at hello@saturdayoff.co.uk.
We collect only what we need to run this service. Nothing more.
We do not collect your name, address, phone number, payment details, or any sensitive personal data. We do not build profiles on our users.
Your email address is used for one purpose only: to send you an alert when a Saturday 5k event near you is cancelled. We will never use it for marketing, promotions, or anything unrelated to cancellation alerts.
Anonymous analytics data (Google Analytics) helps us understand how people use the site so we can improve it. This only runs with your consent via the cookie banner.
We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes. Ever.
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing. See the section below on your rights.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand anonymous visitor behaviour, such as which pages are visited and how people navigate the site. This uses cookies.
We only activate Google Analytics if you click "That's fine" on our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no tracking takes place.
Google Analytics data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally. For more information on how Google handles data, visit policies.google.com/privacy.
Your email address and consent record are stored securely in Supabase, a database hosted on servers located within the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). This means your data is stored within the UK GDPR jurisdiction.
We retain your data for as long as you remain subscribed to alerts. When you unsubscribe, your email address is deleted from our database within 30 days.
Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and data processing agreements. We have selected providers that comply with GDPR requirements.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@saturdayoff.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We may also notify subscribers by email if changes affect how we use their data.
We are happy to help. Drop us an email and we will get back to you within a few days.
