Why it matters

The official parkrun course pages tell you almost nothing useful. Runners Google individual courses before every visit and find very little.

Your local knowledge fills that gap. What took you by surprise on your first visit? That is exactly what someone else needs to know before theirs.

Tips for a good guide

Be honest about difficulty. Runners trust guides that do not oversell easy courses.

Mention the start congestion if the field is large. Almost nobody does.

Specific shoe recommendations are gold. "Road shoes fine in summer, trail in winter" is more useful than "trail shoes recommended."

Note anything the official page does not mention , parking quirks, where the toilets actually are, sections that flood.

Write as if you are texting a friend who is visiting for the first time.
